Chronology of cameras Minagawa

Between the end of the thirties and the beginning of the fifties, many Japanese manufacturers and distributors offered TLRs that were more or less inspired by Rolleicords and Rolleiflex, sometimes sharing the same group of parts made out of subcontractors. Among these TLRs we find the First Reflex. First Camera Works appears to be a trademark of the Minagawa distributor and the manufacturer of these Minagawa TLRs would be Kuribayashi (which will more known as Petri).

The First Reflex is a copy of the Rolleicord which has been declined in several models, the one presented here is not described in references such as the Sugiyama or Camera-Wiki.
It is a simplified model that does not have a film advance blocking system nor of counter of views, but paradoxically its shutter Luster-Rapid reaches the 1 / 500th of a second.
Lustre remembers another brand of these TLRs: Lustre Optical. The camera is extremely similar to an Elegaflex IB that shares the same shutter.
Note the flash-sync connection by male connector on the side of the shutter
